About Us and Our Amazing Film Collection

Historic Video Archives was founded in 1990 with the mission to provide the largest variety of obsolete video footage in the public domain from our private collection and make it easily available to the public. We’ve been collecting old 16 mm films and have been painstakingly transferring them to video tapes and DVDs for you. In the year 2000, we finally started transferring our business to the web to reach you. In 2004 we totally revised the site with a much better organization of our extensive material – plus now all of our titles are available on DVD! After 14 years in business, our private collection is second to none.
Most of these old films were originally made in small quantities, especially the car promo films. Used to train the car dealer’s sales force, many of these amazing films were never released to or seen by the public. If you are a car collector or owner of a classic car, you’ll sure want to see the material we have available for it!
Important Notes: The video tapes and DVDs are custom made to order – these are not mass produced tapes. As a result, you might wait 1-2 weeks until your order arrives. Our tapes are priced by length of the program.
Terms of use: These films are believed to be in the Public Domain, according to our research. If this is not the case, please inform us. because the material is in the public domain, Historic Video Archives and does not carry any responsibility for the usage of the footage.
